My mother, Zhiqun Li, was in a serious car accident last week.   For my birthday this year I’m hoping to raise as much as I can towards her medical bills and other costs of living. 

She broke bones in her knee, ankle, and has a compound fracture in her wrist.  Her other wrist was also broken as well as fractured ribs on both sides.  Fractures in her vertebrae along with multiple fractures in her pelvis.  Two surgeries down already with at least two more scheduled.  Yesterday they inserted pins and rods into her arm.   She has a long road to recovery ahead but we are just thankful she is alive.   The ortho surgeon estimates it’ll be two more weeks in the hospital and then months in a rehab facility.  Probably over a year before she’s walking completely unassisted again. 

My mom is an extremely hardworking person.   She’s on her own for the most part besides my wife and I, so I’m hoping to raise money towards medical bills and whatever else she’ll need over the next year.   She was employed at the UD Dining Halls so she won’t be able to return to work either.  

As always, not too sure what insurance will cover so any and all help is appreciated.
