Kathy’s Journey

As many of you know, and some of you may not, our mother Kathy has recently been diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer. The tumor has been completely removed and the lymph nodes tested negative. Given all of this information, we were all feeling positive as to what the plan would be moving forward. However, last week, we received the results of the Oncotype test and the prognosis was not what anyone had hoped. Due to the probably of the cancer coming back in a more aggressive form, the doctors want her to start Chemotherapy right away. She will be going to Northwestern University in Chicago for these treatments. After chemo, she will have to do radiation and hormone therapy. There are so many out of pocket expenses, and finances are the last thing we want her to worry about at this time. We’d love to be able to get her a cold cap to use during treatment to help with hair retention, as well! As you all know, Kathy would give the world to anyone if she could, so let’s rally together to help her. If financial assistance isn’t possible, we will take all the prayers we can get!
