Swallowing My Pride to Ask for Help

This is hard to write—and even harder to share—but I need help.

After eight years in my home, I’ve been told I need to move because my landlord is moving her father in. It’s sudden and completely unexpected. As a single teacher, the past few years have been financially tough—especially with my medical issues/bills-my savings got wiped out, disappeared!

I’ve tried everything I can to make this work: I’ve sold artwork, even let go of some of my furniture. But the cost of moving is simply more than I can manage on my own right now.

Asking for help isn’t easy for me. I’ve always prided myself on being self-reliant. But today, I’m setting that pride aside and reaching out to my community—my friends and kind strangers—because I don’t know what else to do.
