Chewonki Campground Needs Trees
Don protégé
A Few words from Pam and Ann about the Fundraiser
Welcome! Most of the white pines that defined our campsites were removed this past Fall due to height restrictions dictated by the FAA, the town of Wiscasset, and the Wiscasset Municipal Airport. Devastated and heartbroken to see our trees taken and our sites ruined, we are determined to begin again. Our goal is to rebuild and integrate new shrubs and attractive trees into our landscape while preserving what remains of the classic, natural charm Chewonki Campground began with in 1961.
This is how your contribution can help:
We need:
-55 Arborvitae’s at $400 each
-25 Apple Trees at $400 each
-60 Shrubs and bushes at $200 each
-Labor
To our dedicated campers and friends: we feel as though your donation acts as the deep-rooted support that’s needed for our business to begin again. We deeply appreciate your commitment to Chewonki Campground. Because of you, we will be able see our project take shape, and we’ll be able to accommodate camping families for many more years to come. Here’s to healing, change and camping. Again, we thank you!
Plantings:
-Thuja arborvitae: grows up to 20 ft, creates privacy and shade.
-Crab Apple: ornamental buffer between sites.
-Hydrangea: colorful flowering bush
-Viburnum: grows 12 ft
-Magnolia: flowering tree
