Zoë Harrison

My sweet Zoë Jade has been in the hospital since March 18, 2016. She had been sick and vomiting 2 days prior.  She had a seizure so her father and I took her to the emergency room where they did a CT scan on her and found that she had a golf size tumor on her brain.  They immediately transported her to Children's Hospital in Oakland where they did emergency surgery to put tubes in her head to drain the fluid surrounding the tumor.  The ventricles which should be slit size pump fluid in and out of your brain all day hers were engorged filled with fluid putting pressure on the tumor.  Following the procedure they did a full MRI.
This was our only option, they SAVED her life. The MRI showed that the tumor was connected to the pituitary gland which is right below the brain and the nasal passages by the optic nerve.  Again the only option was for surgery to remove the tumor.
We had the surgery on Friday March 25th. The surgeon along with the ear, nose and throat surgon went in through her nose to drain and remove the tumor.  They had to leave a small amount that was attached to the pituitary gland.  Zoë now has only 1 drain in and are hoping that they can soon remove the other. They are also regulating to see if her pituitary glad is able to function on its own.  We have a short scan MRI tomorrow to see how the fluid is reducing. This is undetermined so far.
Anyone who knows Zoë knows she is always on the go. So my beautiful special little girl who has a lot of love, compassion and life has shown so much strength and bravery.  Zoë's like an old soul. She is caring and always praying for others. I've said this before however I will say it again.... people gravitate towards her all the time. Even here in the hospital.  
I thank God for healing her and giving us his Grace. I know he spared her life because she has something great to do on this Earth.
