Family, friends, and fellow christians,
My name is Stacy Reeves and I have a beautiful 25 year old daughter, Briahna Reeves who is battling Dysautonomia. This past month, Briahna ended up in the hospital for two weeks. Unclear of what actually is medically going on within her body, there have been several different diagnoses thrown out to us, but both local and Santa Barbara doctors agree that she is suffering from an Autonomic Nervous System Disorder.
Her daily symptoms include tachycardia (high heart rate), nausea/vomiting, intense headaches, fatigue/insomnia, abdominal pain, uncontrollable body temperature, body aches, neck/back pain, numbness/tingles in her arms and hands, lightheadedness/dizziness, vertigo, blurred vision, shortness of breathe, and mood swings.
Due to her symptoms, it has limited her from even living comfortable on a daily basis and the medications that she is currently taking haven't been helping. They have increased the dosages but they are causing confusion and processing difficulties. Briahna has now been referred to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota for further testing and care. Within the next three months we will have to travel to get the answers Briahna needs and wants to help start her process to feeling better. It is unknown what to expect.
Briahna has always been a fun, loving, and giving person. She is someone who is independent and has a difficult time taking help from others. She often times likes to be the one to be needed. But she is now in the position where the role is reversed. She is the one who is in need. She financially will not be able to afford the cost of what it will take to get her to the Mayo Clinic. She has been on disability for the past month, and is not suppose to return to work for another month. We have estimated our costs to be about $8,000 to include the following: airfare, co-pays, new possible prescriptions, hotels, transportation, food, possible unforeseen expenses, and what our insurance may not cover. We pray that her journey to Minnesota will have good results. Any support that can be offered would be greatly appreciated. Please keep her and our family in your prayers. Thank you,
