Hi, my name is Alicia and I am trying to raise money to help a wonderful little boy receive very expensive medical treatment.
Catastrophic Adhesive Arachnoiditis.
Exactly one year ago, those words were given by the doctor - words that barely made sense individually, let alone as far as a medical diagnosis. And the research on this disease did not ease the growing panic those words caused. Words like debilitating, no cure, and “pain not conducive to life” were used to describe Levi’s new reality.
Levi was born with Spina Bifida. In his 9 years of life, he has had over 20 surgeries, has seen countless doctors, and has endured more than I could ever imagine. From painful bladder spasms to regular spine fractures, this child has kept the best attitude. This time last year, Levi was scheduled to have surgery to repair a tethered spinal cord, and the outcome of that surgery was the diagnosis of catastrophic adhesive arachnoiditis. The pain he is in on a daily basis is astounding, yet he does his best to be a typical kid. He is THE strongest person I’ve ever known.
This weekend, Levi will see a doctor of naturopathic kinesiology, a doctor who has been able to help so many people. When he heard about Levi’s most recent episode, he dropped everything to drive across the country to see Levi. It isn’t a cure. There isn’t one. But it could help ease the constant pain Levi endures. It could help slow the progression of deteriorating functionality Levi is currently experiencing. It could help.
Unfortunately, this is a $5000 medical expense that was not planned for. Will you help Levi get the treatment that might help ease some of his pain? Will you help his mom and family by easing their financial burden?
Thank you.
