We all have that ONE person who we call our best friend and mine, is my MOM ! Let me tell you something about her, when I tell you she is the strongest, toughest, most independent, and loving individual, she REALLY is!
My mom lives in Texas and in June she started experiencing pain around her sternum that radiated around her rib cage to her shoulder blade in the back. My mom is NEVER sick! One of those that hasn’t seen a Dr. in 12 years!! So when my mom tells me she had to go to the ER because her pain was so bad, I knew she had to be hurting! Of course they did the normal testing, everything checked out okay, here is some inflammation meds and discharge paperwork. Fast forward a couple months with more Dr visits, mammogram, ultrasound, stress test, angiogram, and a chiropractor visit, my mom went to ANOTHER clinic for desperate help!! By this time she is sleeping on the couch sitting straight up, sleeping 2-3 per night, pain is 10/10, and can’t twist without sharp pain. FINALLY a doctor who did another xray and saw something and then did a CT with contrast. 12/21/25 we got the worst news no one wants to be told, “I am so sorry but you have cancer.” Now again, my independent mom is in Texas with no family local to help her. She met with a pulmonologist down there to try to get answers and guidance. That Dr. appeared to jump on her care and made her seem important. However she sat for another 2 weeks with not a single word from that Dr.!!!! I begged my mom to relocate and move back to Ohio and stay with me and get help here! Finally, 1/5/26 mom called and said, “I can’t risk my health any longer, I’m coming to Ohio!” She flew in on 1/8/26! Since then we have had EXCELLENT AND FAST care through University Hospital!! However, my mom does have a lung road ahead as she does have stage 3 lung cancer. She will be receiving chemo and radiation and then immunotherapy for a year afterwards. All these tests and treatments to beat the cancer is going to bring large amounts of medical bills! I am hoping to raise any money to help my mom to help ease her mind to let her focus on her recovery!!
if you can help in any way, your support is GREATLY appreciated
