Meet Floyd! Floyd was born with a huge life challenge, that promised a life of health issues, minimal achievements, that he would struggle to talk, walk, learn and make friends, let alone anything else in life. He was born with Down Syndrome.

His parents could not help but see so much potential in his eyes they searched high and low for ways to minimise or avoid the many health issues and challenges his condition would bring him. Unfortunately Doctors and specialists could not give anything but negative predictions, and no solutions to help his quality of life, the therapies on offer in Australia also had no real strategies to truly help at the core either.

Floyd's parents did not give up and before he was a year old, found a circle of proactive parents with the same mindset as them, and started to learn about somewhere that could help. A family already on the program they found introduced them to all the program had done for their little boy and helped them begin with books and lots of information . They had found a Neurodevelopment program on offer in America which had been helping children with various disabilities associated with the brain and brain injury for 60 years with unimaginable success. They worked hard after reading their books and undertook a home program every day of the week, until the institute came for their once a year visit to Australia to pass on their many years of search and results and educate parents on how they could be their child's therapists at home, literally doing things that are helping his brain directly and make it grow through Neuroplasticity. The brain grows by use!

The Institute for the Acheivment of Human Potential were impressed with what the family had done on their own and booked them in immeditately to go to America and have Floyd assessed my their child neurodevelopmentalists and a program made specifically for him that his parents were taught by the therapists. Floyd and his mum and dad have being doing the program 7 days week officially since June 2015, with the exception of time off for 6 monthly appointments to America, he has his third visit next month. The visits are imperative to ensure Floyd's health is looked after, that the many debilitating issues of Down syndrome do not take over, as well as that he develops mentally and physically. This costs a lot of money each trip, especially with the poor Australian dollar, plus lots of materials are needed weekly for his intelligence program, and unique equipment built for his physical program and physiologically, looking after his health and trying to heal his brain is expensive. However, the program is the best in the world and the only place that can help Floyd not only be ok, but hopefully well and like any other child, it's just a shame it takes so much to get all the way over there.

As as well as this, they travel to Sydney regularly for help from specialist biomedical doctor that looks after Floyd's body on a cellular level. It's a fight, with expensive daily supplements prescribed to fight the damage of the extra chromosome, a strict organic diet, and many regular unique tests to check his body isn't hiding anything sinister like Luekhemia, and early Alzheimers which is a higher risk to those with Down syndrome.

We would love it if we can raise this money for Floyd and his parents which is would mean the world to them. They couldn't do anymore, his dad works away FIFO taking any extra shift he can, only home for a couple of days every month or two, and mum is busy with Floyd 6 hours a day 7 days a week doing the program and everything required to work on his health like good food,  therapies and never ending research.

To those that have already donated, we can't thank you enough, the money raised has gone towards an incredibly important breathing device that helps develop Floyd's lung capacity and strength, a major issue with people with Down syndrome!

Any amount you can give will go a very long way to help Floyd, he's already beating the negative prognosis that was placed on his life, but it's a long journey ahead.

 Thank you very much.
