Fighting cancer

Hello my name is Haley. My son Henry had a bump on his forehead. I first noticed it back in late November and I took him to the local emergency room. They sent us to flagstaff. In flagstaff the doctors took some images and discovered a tumor. Within an hour of finding the tumor Henry and I are airlifted to Phoenix children hospital. We spent a week figuring out what type of tumor this was and how to approach removal. It was determined Henry had langerhan cell histiocytosis. Also known as LCH. An aggressive resection was done December 11th. Surgery went well. The surgeon was confident all the tumor was removed. Henry recovered very well. For 3 months every thing was healing nicely. Then last week I noticed the very smallest bump in the same spot on his forehead. I immediately take him down to the Phoenix children hospital fearing the worst. Henry is extremely smart. When he saw the hospital a look of panic came across his face. I took his little hand in mine and I told him we got this buddy. I told him things would be okay and we just had to check out his dancing dinosaurs. He looked at me with a little less fear and said mommy no pokes. Meaning no shots. We had some images of his forehead done and confirmed the tumor is back. In just a few days the tumor had grown bigger than the first tumor. We spent a week talking about the best way to remove this tumor. Surgery was not an option. We decided chemo therapy was the best and least invasive option. Henry just had a port put in this will be he is administered the chemotherapy. Henry is the most kind hearted little man. While waiting for his port to be put in. Henry is in the playroom with toys all around him. He sees a little boy come in the room and gets up to go say hello. The boy is upset. Henry goes to hug him and tells him it’s okay. He is a very silly creative 3 year old. He would get the nurses to laugh by calling them all doctors. He would have them giggling and playing along. While he sat at the nurses station and pretended to work. He would say I need to make my money for my toys. I would ask Henry a question and he would tell me “mom I’m talking to the doctors.” Henry just had his port put in and his first round of IV chemotherapy. He is on a chemo pill he takes 3 times a day for 6 weeks to start his year long treatment plan. I am starting a new job that is going to work with me around his chemotherapy but I will not be able to work full-time, and I am alone in this adventure with Henry. so I’m asking for help. I don’t know what else to do. The bills will start to pile up as I will be driving back-and-forth to Phoenix every week for chemotherapy. I’m praying and hoping there is a few people out there who can help us keep our home. I have never reached out and asked for help before. I’ve always been able to take care of things on my own. Henry and I need your help. At the very least we need your prayers.
