My mother’s name is Christy. On September 23, 2020 she beat stage 2 breast cancer after a year long battle. She went through chemo and radiation treatment. She underwent multiple surgeries including a double mastectomy and reconstruction. It was a rigorous journey and I thank God everyday for her strength and the support of all our friends and family.
In this past year, she has been struggling with intense pain in her hips, legs and back. After many doctor’s visits, tests, and therapy, the doctor informed us that her cancer has moved into her bones. It is currently stage 4 and is in her spine, hips and pelvis. She is undergoing treatment at Cancer Specialists of North Florida and it is expected to take a year.
To say it has been hard would be an understatement. We are calling on our tribe for assistance. If you know my mom, you know she’s been a forklift driver for like forever and she can’t work anymore because she can’t walk. Disability helps a lot but there is a lot that it doesn’t. I have been blessed to have a job that allows me take her to the appointments but I have had to cut my hours at work.
We are seeking to raise $6,000 to assist with rent, groceries insurance, treatment and medical supplies. I want to thank you all for your prayers and support.
Other ways to help:
Cook a meal or send dinner. Cleaning services, etc. And MOST of all, we appreciate all your prayers!
