It comes with tremendous pain and sadness to announce my wife's passing, Sylvia Castillo. As many knew, Sylvia was a God-loving, compassionate, and giving woman. She devoted herself to her family and friends from all walks of life. Sylvia never judged or turned anyone away.

She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was always a strong woman. A true definition of resilience. Many of Syliva's fondest memories came from time spent with her family. She loved to cook; many of us remember her in her apron and in the kitchen cooking at one of her many gatherings.

She fell ill about two weeks ago and never was able to come out of it. Finally, after many years of struggling with her diabetes, kidney disease, and neuropathy, she gained wings on June 9th, 2022.

As this may be a shock, Sylvia had battled through many other close-call circumstances. However, this time was different; she was tired. It brings us peace to know she isn't suffering. She isn't sick anymore. Finally, she is at peace. She will be welcomed by many up in Heaven and missed by all left behind. We will keep her love alive through the memories we share. Through the stories, we tell. Through the joy, she brought to many.

As her husband, I am asking for donations for her funeral and memorial services. We want to make this her final celebration of lie, love, and light. It would bring her great joy knowing that her loved ones, friends, and family were able to do so just one last time.
