I am Rory Blumenschein the brother of Robin Blumenschein. The saying goes, if life gives you lemons, go make lemonade & that is exactly what my parents did. November 17, 1978 Robin Aaron Blumenschein was born into this world. He was breached with the cord wrapped around his neck numerous times and the doctor had to use forceps to pull him out, with the lack of oxygen he had become handicap.
My parents, sister & I always loved Robin and treated him like another part of the family. Robin could not communicate, he didn't know that if he touched a burner on the stove that he would get burnt or if he walked across the road he could be hit by a car, he couldn't talk with his words, but he would smile when someone he recognized walked into the room.
I'm telling you this, because of the sacrifice that my parents would make the next 37 years would be sacrificial and incomparable in my eyes. You see, most families would have placed a handicap child in someone else's care or they would have simply given the child to the state to deal with. Not my parents! They decided that Robin was a gift from heaven that Jesus gave to us to take special care of. No one knew how hard and how rewarding the days ahead would be.
Fast forward from dad retiring and immediately having a kidney transplant (genetic disease), mom going through cancer and now Robin's death, being on a fixed income has exacerbated their ability to pay for the funeral expenses.
I am looking for a miracle and am asking for help financially for the funeral expenses.
No gift is too small when we serve a BIG God!
Robin past away suddenly on Monday, January 4, 2016, this would be the last grand -mal seizure that Robin would ever have (no more suffering).
