Meals to Heal
Donation protected
Hi everyone, we are a group of American and Canadian medical students from the American Medical Program at Tel Aviv University. As our studies have been put on hold, we have created this initiative to raise funds to be able to provide groceries/household supplies and cook fresh kosher meals for displaced families and soldiers in need as a result of the ongoing conflict. We have fellow students, roommates, and friends assisting in cooking meals and baking fresh goods across multiple apartments in Tel Aviv as well as teams delivering all prepped meals to families and army bases across the country. Any excess funds will be shared with other initiatives across the country with goals similar to ours. All donations go a long way to allow us to continue feeding those in need.
**************************UPDATE****************************
As we get ready to head back to our studies on November 5th, the team has decided to partner with the Cooking From the Heart group @ Kitchen 94 in Tel Aviv to continue to help provide meals for families and soldiers in need. They are a Kosher restaurant in Tel Aviv that is providing Kosher meals to soldiers, displaced families and those in need. They are able to use the funds we have raised in a more efficient manner and feed more people than we ever could with our small team. Since the start of the war they have not had time to focus on raising money and are now dipping into their own pockets to keep providing meals. We can be a huge help by providing them with the funds that we have raised with your help! They are very organized and extremely efficient. An average hot meal costs them 17 shekels, a sandwich probably much less. They send out roughly 14,000 meals a day at full capacity. However, in the last week they are severely short on funds and have begun to slow down to cut losses of personal expenses. With your help, we could keep them operational to continue to feed those in need across Israel. Our team will continue to make smaller batches mainly for shabbat between our studies, but we think this would be the best way for us to continue our contributions to the cause at hand.
