Hi, this is Gizmo, the love of our lives.

A couple of days ago Gizmo got extremely sick.

It started off with him being really lethargic and fatigued; he wouldn’t even bark at his doggie friends from our living room window. He then slowly stopped eating and drinking. He began having watery stools and constant vomiting. He grew weaker and weaker as the week progressed. It had gotten to a point where Gizmo couldn’t even use his doggie stairs to get off the bed.

We took him to the emergency room where he’s been maintained on fluids, however his symptoms persisted. He still won’t eat on his own and is now being fed via NG tube. The swelling in his abdomen is slowly going down. He was just started on a second antibiotic, which the doctors are hopeful will help jump start him eating orally.

We normally wouldn’t ask, but we’re in a position where we financially can’t keep him at the hospital in order for him to get the care he needs. He is truly apart of our family. We love him so much and we want to make sure we advocate for him the best we can and give him the best chance at recovering.
