Ahmad lives in war torn Syria and is unable to complete his degree in Civil Engineering. He lives with 8 family members in a room the size of a public toilet. He has not slept in a bed in over 6 years. At night, he clutches his "bear" as he hears gunfire and bombs outside of his home, not knowing if he will survive until morning. He suffers daily humilation and ridicule from the ruling forces. He wants desparately to complete his degree in the United States and will use his funds to secure a Visa to finish his degree in Engineering and pursue advanced studies in engineering research. He comes from a well educated family who are also struggling to survive. As the family's youngest member he hopes to earn money to help them in their plight after he finishes his degree. Ahmad's heartbreaking life has lead him to the serious contemplation of suicide or selling his kidney to earn money to study in America. He has no money and no job. He is willing to work hard but there are no jobs for him in Syria. He hopes to raise funds for his freedom to study.
Ahmad has become my friend over the past year. I am a retired social worker and I am deeply moved by the plight of Syrian refugees and Syrians who are trying to flee the violence in their country. Living in California, where we have seen thousands of refugees, I am especially moved by Ahmad's story. If you are moved by Ahmad's story, please give generously to this compassionate and kind young man. His funds will be used to obtain a current passport and Visa to a country where he can be safe. Although he would love to come to the USA, he also is considering an welcoming country that will help him rebuild his life. The money I raise for this young man will be sent directly to him through a family member. I have already been able to help him in this manner to insure safety of the funds. Blessings on your consideration of this request.
