A single-vehicle crash tragically claimed the life of Calvin Drake Jr. (age 33) on Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Calvin is survived by his lovely wife, Heather and four beautiful young children (ages 9 through 3).
Calvin Drake Jr. was truly a gentle giant. His family was at the center of his heart, and his love for them was evident through his passion when he shared stories about them. Calvin was a well-respected community leader, and he impacted the lives of many individuals through the Selma Rotary Club, coaching little league baseball, mentoring and other activities. Finally, Calvin was an committed manager and caring teammate at the bank where he worked. He was best known for his radiating smile, high standards of excellence and striving to make a different everyday.
While Calvin Drake Jr. will be missed by many, his wife and four children will miss him the most. He was their husband, father, friend and role model. He was the gentle giant that protected and loved them with passion, pride and an amazing smile.
Family and friends of Heather Drake have launched this fund raising campaign to help cover burial expenses, plant seeds to care for their children and provide supplemental funds to help cover the financial needs that might not otherwise be met.
We would be tremendously grateful for your contributions to Heather and the children. If you are compelled to do so, please share this story with others for their consideration. Thank you and blessings to you.
