medical bills for dog attack.

hello everyone..

on june 02nd, my 9 year old dog and i were approached & attacked by what looks like a wild, ferocious coyote/dog. whatever it was almost killed her.

she was screaming and yelping so loud. the sounds i heard are extremely scarring and unfortunately stuck with me forever. it left her in critical condition with countless amount of wounds. she was rushed to the emergency veterinary hospital & was put into immediate surgery. she is now at home on three different medications.. one for inflammation, one for infection, and the other for pain. she has puncture wounds and multiple bruises on her back. one puncture with 4 staples. she has stitches on both her right and left side of her body with draining tubes attached to drain access fluids from the wound to prevent infection from occurring. post surgery she is very shaken up, and extremely quiet.. she doesn’t have to tell us she’s in pain.. we can see how much she’s hurting.

unfortunately we couldn’t afford everything that had to be done & only paid for what we could.

we couldn’t afford an x-ray that would’ve shown if there is further damage to her internal organs. we also couldn’t afford a blood test & considering her age the doctor highly recommended we get her one. we’re emotionally devastated and can’t even imagine an ounce of what our poor baby is feeling. the amount of pain and discomfort she’s in shatters our hearts.

i continue to thank God for my paycheck that deposited into my bank account the morning of the incident or else i don’t even know what we would have done & with the amount of damage to her body- the medical bill just kept adding up. we are a family that lives paycheck to paycheck (literally) & when we are struggling we tend to avoid asking for help.. but this one was different..

what happened to us, unfortunately we cannot put the bills on hold.. things still need to be paid but of course i wasn’t going to let her die. she means everything to us, as your furr babies do to you.
