Honey came from a feral mom that gave birth on a friend's back porch. My friend's young nieces picked out their favorite and sweetest kitten from the litter and gave her to me to care for. Honey was the obvious name for such a sweet kitten. She has not left my side since I became her mama less than a year ago. Each night she curls up and sleeps as close, if not on me. The weight of her little body calming me.
It is a week before her first birthday and she has contracted Pyometra, a uterine infection that is rare in such young cats. The only treatment option is for emergency surgery to essential spay her. The estimated cost I have been given is between $5000-6000. She is stable now but I don't know long that will last. Without this surgery she will not live but her prognosis is good if she were to have the surgery.
The last 6 months have been emotionally rough for me. Honey has been the reassuring reminder to keep going. She didn't give up on me when I was at my lowest and I cannot give up on her. Not when the only thing keeping her alive is a dollar figure. Please, whatever you can give to offset the cost would be greatly appreciated and valued. I cannot bare to think of losing her.
