Zeyk's Cancer Surgery Fund

Hi! My name is Kelly and I’m the proud parent of the best boy Zeyk (affectionately known as Zeyk-a-Peek, Peekers, Stinks, and many more). I was not a dog person before this sweet rescue waddled out of a cardboard box and into my lap. But, once he did, I instantly knew we were meant for each other!

A few months ago, my husband and I felt a lump in Zeyk's neck. And, in December our vet told us she suspected that it was Thyroid Carcinoma. This past week we visited the Sugar Land Vet Specialist and our worst fears were confirmed. They talked us through what this kind of cancer is and how it shows up in dogs. They did give us a little bit of good news. Based on Zeyk's great health otherwise, lack of symptoms, and the location of the mass, they believe he can undergo surgery to have it removed!

The bad news besides the diagnosis is really the cost of treatment. The pre-operation testing alone is going to cost $5,594 and a rough estimate for the surgery (if Zeyk is cleared with the tests) will be between $3,500-$5,100 additionally. So, it could cost roughly $10,000 total to have the tumor removed.

We love our sweet boy so much and want desperately to take his cancer away. We were shocked by how much the cost of this all is, but we would do anything for him. He is our family. That said we need your help with paying for this expensive operation. We are hoping to raise half of the cost of his tests and surgery, but really anything will help us out at this point.
