Family and Friends,
On January 25, 2016, my mother Antonette's apartment caught fire. She escaped with the clothing on her back. Thank God that she is alive and ok.
However, everything from her toothbrush, towels, wash rags, clothing, her bedroom set, furniture, kitchen appliances, photos etc. were all destroyed from either the fire or smoke and/or water damage.
Unfortunately, the apartment is uninhabitable and she was unable to stay there. She has been displaced for two weeks now and is trying to pick up the pieces and start again. At this time, she is staying with a neighbor until all of the pieces sort themselves.
The optimist in me, believes that on some deeper level -this is a sign to begin again and to have a fresh new start. But the daughter in me is concerned about the wellbeing and needs of my mother. My faith is greatly tested at this time and I really could use your help and support.
Those closest to her are doing what we can to help her. But as you can imagine; the needs are great when you've lost EVERYTHING.
I have set up a Go Fund Me account to raise funds to make her burden a little bit lighter and to encourage her as she starts anew.
If you are able to help (no amount is too small), I would be forever grateful and appreciative. However, if you are not able to help at this time, then I ask that you please share this on your Facebook feed or with friends and family.
