Tuesday October 13, Zeus was practicing off leash training with us in front of our garage away from the busy streets. As we were training he got distracted by a dog far away that I didn’t see and chased it. He chased it across the street of senter & capitol of San Jose, Ca. He successfully made it across the street and met up with the other dogs owner. As Zeus ran away I chased him across the street while at the same time avoiding getting hit by oncoming traffic. When I made it to the middle of the street I tried yielding traffic and  yelled “ Zeus stay there!” And asked the owner “keep him there please!”.
zeus being the loving and curious Dog he is he ran back to me and met a collision with a white Toyota Tacoma pick up truck. My girlfriend and my heart dropped as we watched him roll under the truck thankfully avoiding the tires of the truck. We started crying out Zeus! And yelled for help. I ran back to my car full adrenaline and sorrow as my friends and girlfriend try to tend to Zeus, while at the same time trying to flag down the driver of the truck. When I got back to the scene of the accident my friends tried calling the police... but.. no efforts were made to stop the truck from running away. We rushed Zeus to the nearest emergency vet. Zeus was checked into the care of the veterinarian. After approximately 3 hrs of waiting for an answer we were reassured that he was going to make it and his initial bill being 1,500$. That night we all went home and tried to make better of the situation and awaited for Zeus return. The next day I picked him up and was informed he may need surgery for a spinal cord fracture. Please help us fund enough money to give our best friend the best life he deserves. He’s only 1 year & 2 months old. We can’t imagine a life without him... he’s been there for our ups and downs... and our darkest moments he always to manage to make us smile and laugh. Please help us keep our pillar of strength, our light in the darkness, Our little boy... we appreciate everyone’s help. Help us pay for his surgery and medical bills.
