Meet Zeus, a nearly 5 year old squishy and wrinkly rescue who’s been with us since 8 weeks of age. Over the past few years, Zeus has become a major part of ours lives, and has become a sensation among family, friends, frequent dog park goers, and his fur siblings. He has also worked his way into the hearts of the staff at his vets office, who always meet him with hugs and kisses upon his arrival. Zeus is a mixture of Shar Pei and Basset Hound, although we’ve been told that “he could be a miniature mastiff with that mouth”. Zeus loves to perch, and because of that, he’s become what we call a “perchinese pei” - he really lives up to that name. We love him like our child, and to us, he is just that. Unfortunately Zeus was seen last week at the veterinarian’s office for a lump that has been slowly growing and deflating. Due to this, the lump was aspirated and the results showed that the lump is cancerous. This week, he was seen by a surgeon who recommended the immediate removal of the tumor. At that time, he had an ultrasound and X-ray to insure that the cancer has not spread. We want to remove the mass as soon as we can, however, the cost of the surgery is more than we are able to afford at this time. No matter how big or small, Zeus and our family would be beyond thankful for your contribution in his fight against cancer.
