Hi!
My name is Lisa Rodebush. I am Samantha’s Mom. As most of you know Sam and her husband recently blessed us with a new grandson, Arwyn. Rosie is very excited to have a little brother.
Sammy has been through a tough time to be able to have her little one. She had two miscarriages just prior to getting pregnant with Ari. During that time her Dad, Phil had a major medical event that added more anxiety to an already terrible situation.
On April 13, Sammy went into the hospital almost 2 weeks past her due date so they could induce labor. That took 2 days but on April 15th Arwyn Dean Bourrie was born. He had a few complications but on April 17, they were able to go home at 11:30. They got home and everyone settled in bed to snuggle and sleep.
A few hours later Samantha woke up with terrible chest pains and was having a lot of difficulty breathing. She phoned her doctor and they sent her to the hospital Emergency room immediately. As you can imagine this was very scary.
Her blood pressure was skyrocketing while her heart rate was staying down in the 30’s. She has heart failure. The fancy name is Mitral Valve Regurgitation. This causes blood to back up in her heart and fill up a chamber rather than being fully pumped out into the body.
She is now stable on meds but it is not the solution. Soon, she will have to have a valve replacement. This is an extremely scary surgery. We dont know yet if they will be able to do it through the veins or if it will require open heart surgery. Until then, she will have many doctor appointments, medication and lifestyle changes.
I am asking anyone who can to please consider a donation to this go fund me for her family. She is going to be in a recovery stage for some time and it can help with meals, medical bills or other needs they may require. Most of all I ask for your thoughts and prayer. This is a lot for anyone to go through but a 31 year old in heart failure has been terrifying for Sammy, Rich and her family. I am also asking that you share this go fund me page. Anything that we can do will help. Thank you in advance.
