Be A Champion for Coach Ryan

Ryan loves to laugh, and he loves to make others laugh too. So, when Andy and I (we are Ryan’s uncle and aunt) heard he had suffered a stroke, we called him immediately to see how we could help. Ryan answered our call and said, “I heard these great jokes!” and proceeded to reel off two or three jokes in a row. This is so typical of how Ryan approaches life, trying to make other people comfortable in difficult or trying circumstances, helping others to see the joy on “planet earth.”
On February 1st, Ryan had an acute lacunar hypertensive stroke. He spent four days in the hospital, two of which were in intensive care. Thankfully, the residual impact was relatively minor, but he will need ongoing care and treatment. His physicians predict a 100% recovery in the very short term.
Ryan’s medical expenses are sizable and will continue to grow as his condition stabilizes and improves. His contract and employee status for the multiple teams he coaches precluded him from employer-sponsored medical insurance benefits at the time of his stroke. In addition, at the strong recommendations of his physicians, Ryan is making some dramatic and unexpected costly lifestyle changes to reduce his stress level and minimize any additional neurological effects.
We ask for your assistance in covering some of his medical and unplanned collateral expenses. Our goal is to raise $15,000.
“Coach Ryan,” who is passionate about helping young men and women reach their athletic and personal goals, has coached elementary schoolers to collegiate athletes in gymnastics, cheerleading and tumbling over the last 25 years! Across North Florida, Georgia, and northern Virginia, Ryan has mentored athletes to be champions in sport and champions in life.
We ask that you be a champion for Ryan. Contribute if you can; share, if you will; and please offer your thoughts and prayers for his continued recovery and good health.
Thank you.
