️ Climbing Peak Palatka for Women’s Aid ♀️
Help Me Brave the Cold to Support Women in Need
Hi, I’m Lynsey and in July 2025 I’ll be undertaking the most physically and mentally challenging journey of my life: climbing Peak Palatka, a 4,700m mountain in Kyrgyzstan’s remote Tian Shan range — in winter conditions. ❄️
This won’t be a simple hike.
It’s a 15-day expedition, through deep snow, high altitudes, and nighttime temperatures dropping below -20°C. I’ll be pushing my body and mind to the edge, all in support of a cause I believe deeply in: Women’s Aid.
⸻
Why I’m Doing This
Violence against women is a global crisis — and it often hides in silence.
Women’s Aid works tirelessly to provide refuge, advocacy, and life-saving support for women and children escaping abuse.
I want to turn this challenge into something bigger than myself — and with your help, we can make real change.
⸻
Where Your Donations Go
100% of donations (after GoFundMe fees) will go directly to Women’s Aid, funding:
• Emergency accommodation for women and children
• Access to counseling and legal support
• Helplines and outreach services
• Education and advocacy to stop violence before it starts
⸻
️ The Challenge Ahead
This expedition is not for the faint of heart:
• 15 days in sub-zero temperatures
• Carrying gear through high-altitude terrain
• Sleeping in tents on snow and ice
• No showers, no comforts — just resilience, grit, and a deep determination
I’m training hard, preparing mentally and physically, and I’ll be documenting the journey as best I can. I want to bring everyone who donates along with me — into the cold, into the wild — so we can feel the impact together.
⸻
Help Me Reach My Goal
Please consider donating — even the cost of a coffee helps.
And if you can’t donate right now, you can still help by sharing this page with your friends and family.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤️
Lynsey xx
