Last night Nigel and I came upstairs from him using the bathroom. Right as we walking in the house, he took 3 big breaths, then his body went stiff and he keeled over and dropped to the ground. I picked him up and he was lifeless. I was shouting his name and slapping his chest for about 10 seconds, then he came to and was disoriented. It was one of the worst things that’s ever happened to Tami and I. I thought he’d just died in my arms.
We rushed his to the emergency room at about 5am. They did some tests and blood work and found that is liver is not functioning properly, and they think the reason he passed out is from some sort of neurological complication. He’s be kept there for the next few days to get tons of tests done, he’s stable, but we don’t know what all is wrong. He needs an MRI, and a Liver Ultrasound and Medications on top of all that has already been done.
Nigel has been by my side for the past 10 years. He has made so many people smile, and never lifeted a harmful paw to anyone or anything. Countless bands that I’ve put up at my house over the last ten years have come back immediately awaiting another a visit with Nigel. His goofy face, messed up teeth and undeniably positive attitude have brightened everyone’s day who has ever met him.
Tami and I have already spent thousands, and are going to drain our savings and every single last cent we have to make sure he stays with us. But if you are in a position to help, we all would appreciate it. He deserves it. Thank you for your positive thought and energy. We know he’s going to fight through this.
