Zelda in Our Hearts
Spende geschützt
The friends and family of Rob(b)y, Nicole, Pippin and Zelda Brenneman Reeder are creating this fund in an effort to support the family with their various needs as they navigate Zelda’s diagnosis of a diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) brain tumor.
Zelda, who is five, attended an appointment on Thursday, October 10 with an optometrist following observed changes in her vision and headache complaints. She was referred to a specialist who recommended an MRI. Zelda received the diagnosis at that time, and remained at OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital following the results of the MRI. On 10/14/24 she underwent a surgery to place a shunt in her head to drain excess fluid from her brain; which was causing pressure and discomfort. The surgery went well and the placement of the shunt was successful and has provided a great deal of relief! Zelda started radiation on Wednesday, November 6 and will have radiation therapy every weekday for 13 days.
The family is taking it one day at a time; sharing with the girls information that they are sure will be happening in the present, and/or a few days into the future. Zelda is currently doing well and spending a lot of time laughing and enjoying being at home. Her favorite things are playing with Pippin, creating Lego masterpieces, snuggling her parents, and playing the new Zelda video game. Rob(b)y and Nicole appreciate all of your positive thoughts.
We are hopeful that the funds raised through your generosity will remove some of the financial stressors on the family, allowing Rob(b)y and Nicole to focus on their children and one another.
