St Gabriel’s special school

Hi guys. Myself and Colm are taking part in the Cork City Marathon again this year to raise money for Rory’s school in Bishopstown. This includes us both doing the virtual marathon during Covid.
This is Colm’s 5th year doing the full marathon and we are so proud of him. This year Colm has done a lot of training for it as he joined the navy last August. This is also my 5th year taking part in the marathon with some other parents and staff from St Gabriel’s

Rory has been going to St Gabriel’s since he was 5 and is now 13. He absolutely loves school, his teachers, snas and especially his friends. There are around 50 children in his school all between 5-18 and all have severe to profound special needs.

Throughout the year the kids in St Gabriel’s get to do lots of activities like swimming, horse riding, trips to funderland, parties at Christmas, Paddies day and this year they had a visit from the academy of music who did a concert for them out in the playground. These were great days for the children and they had lots of fun.

We are raising money so that we can continue funding these activities for the children so all donations will be greatly appreciated
