Zeke Needs Us After Six Stab Wounds

I witnessed a nightmare no sibling should ever have to face - Zeke was brutally stabbed six times, one of those nicking his heart. He was also stabbed in the liver, his abdominal wall, his face, and suffered a collapsed lung. I thought I watched my brother die Thanksgiving night. Zeke is now in ICU and has undergone two surgeries, one on his face and the other one opening his chest, and is barely able to speak. He is struggling to breathe on his own while relying on 100% oxygen. Despite the severity of his injuries, he's terrified about how he'll manage the medical bills. The financial burden has already begun piling up as he has no health insurance. And with the weeks more to spend in the ICU, he's fearful that his dreams of buying a car and overall improving his life and daily struggles he deals with will be delayed if not entirely crushed.

This boy is so smart, and I've watched him through times most would just give up. Zeke has always made it on his own, and I just wanted us to show him that this is only a temporary setback - not the end of his journey. I want us to show him that we believe in him. He will heal. He will thrive. He will reach his goals.
