On February 21st, I brought our son, Zeke, to see his oncologist after he developed pain in his left ankle and a fever. Blood work confirmed Zeke's cancer had returned. Zeke was originally diagnosed with a rare subtype of leukemia called Philadelphia Chromosome Positive Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia B-cell in April 2022 at the age of 6. Zeke finished treatment in April 2024. Zeke was off treatment for only 10 months before his cancer returned. The goal right now is to get Zeke into remission and then he will transfer to Boston Children's Hospital for a Bone Marrow Transplant.
