Many of you will know Ryan as a tough, committed player who always gives everything on the rugby pitch. Unfortunately, during a recent game Ryan suffered a very serious neck injury.

Ryan has sustained two unstable fractures in his neck (C5 and C6 vertebrae). He is currently in a specialist neck and shoulder collar and requires 24-hour care while the bones attempt to heal. In six weeks he will have another check-up to determine whether the fractures are knitting together or if he will need surgery to insert steel plates to stabilise his neck.

At the moment Ryan cannot work for at least six weeks, but realistically it could be several months before he is able to return, especially as he will likely need physiotherapy and rehabilitation once the collar is removed.

As you can imagine, this is an incredibly difficult time for Ryan and his family. We are setting up this page to help relieve some of the financial pressure while he focuses on what matters most — recovering and getting back on his feet.
