Zee's Farewell
For 22 years, Zee was my world. More than just a horse, she was family, a constant through life's storms. Recently, I had to make the heartbreaking decision to let her go after a diagnoses of cancer. We gave her a good death, but I also had to face a difficult choice: a $2,400 cremation, or a mass grave.
Zee was my mom’s favorite, and losing her is like losing another piece of her. I carry a regret, a weight of not honoring my mom’s wish for cremation due to family beliefs. I can't bear to make that same mistake with Zee.
It feels extravagant, I know. I’ve managed her medical bills on a care credit card, but this final step... it feels essential. And, to add to the burden, I was laid off, again in January. Asking for help feels selfish. But the thought of Zee, who gave me so much, ending up in a mass grave was unbearable.
There is only one facility in Washington that offers cremation which is why the steep price of $2,400.
It's a lot, I know. If you can help, any amount would be a gift. But please, only donate if you truly can. I understand if times are tight.
Thank you for helping Zee get the farewell she deserves.
