Hello friends and family of Zeek,

What was initially assumed to be some elevation sickness, quickly turned into emergency open heart surgery for a tear found in his aorta.

Thanks to a friend-and his guardian angel- advocating for his health and insisting he go to the hospital, Zeek was rushed into an emergency operation, known as an “aortic dissection”. The procedure took over 12 hours to complete and the surgeon rendered it successful. 

The average recovery time is one week in ICU and 2 weeks hospitalization as well as up to a month at home recovery. 

Meanwhile, we have decided to start this GoFundMe to offset some of the medical bills associated with mending a broken heart. (I wish I was kidding when I say it is expensive to be kept alive in America!) The holidays are tough on everyone, but anything helps and is appreciated. All things considered, we are just so fortunate to have him still here with us and we can’t wait to have him home!!
