On Friday, March 17th, a lucky day for most, turned tragic for Eric & Abby Zeedyk. A fire had started after the family left for school & work. A coworker driving by noticed smoke coming from their home, called the fire department, & then the family. Abby responded immediately. When she got home she informed the fire department of the family's dogs still inside & they were able to rescue them safely. This fire was raging & destroyed about 50% of the home. It hadn't reached the bedroom side of the house at this point. They were happy that they could retrieve clothing & other items the next morning. Overnight into the early morning the fire rekindled from embers. At 7:20am they received a phone call from a neighbor saying their house was fully engulfed in flames once more, which completely destroyed the rest of the home. They have lost everything. They do have insurance but that takes time & they only have the clothes on their back so anything helps.
