Tom Cowden Youth Shooting Sports or TCYSS was established in Memory of Tom Cowden. Tom died at the tender age of 15 from Medulloblastoma, an aggressive Brain Cancer after a 2 year battle with the disease. Tom endured more than anyone should ever have to endure but was a fighter to the end. Tom loved the outdoors and loved to shoot anything that created a projectile. In 2012 the year he passed, we decided to start a 4-H Shooting Sports Club in his Memory, the first in our county. TCYSS was born out of the necessity to support the 4-H Club and since we have expanded into other Youth Shooting Sports. We serve over 100 kids through 4-H and host day camps for the youth in our area in the summers. We host and support a Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) Team and an AIM Trap Trap Team. We also work with other youth groups and individual youth as requested, all at no charge. We even provide ammunition, firearms or other equipment as requested. TCYSS is an apolitical organization. Our Programs are open to all Kids ages 8-18.
