On Saturday, October 4, 2025, our community was shaken by the heartbreaking loss of Zechariah Israel Turner, whose life was tragically taken by a drunk driver in Henderson, North Carolina.

Zechariah was a young man full of light, love, and energy. He had the sweetest spirit and a smile that could brighten anyone’s day. He deeply adored his mom, myself, and brother, and was loved by everyone who knew him. Zechariah attended Vance County Schools. Where he played multiple sports and left lasting impressions on his teammates, coaches, and friends.

This devastating loss has left my family heartbroken and facing unexpected expenses during an already unbearable time. Your donations will go directly toward funeral costs and related expenses, helping to ensure that Zechariah receives the homegoing celebration he deserves. In addition, funds will provide my family with peace and a bit of financial freedom as they navigate life after this tragedy—relieving some of the hardship that comes with such an unimaginable loss.
