Dog , is God backwards: Help Duke

It amazes me the things people can do.... Or at times not do to help mans best friend. I found Duke lethargically walking down a 2 lane road through south Louisiana swamp land in the middle of no where. I could see him in the distance swaying back and forth, cars swerving around him. He walked to the side of the road and laid down defeated.
I opened my car door and he looked up at me. He slowly got up, walked to my door and laid his head in my lap. At that moment I knew he needed OUR help!
He has tested heart worm positive, which can be a long, painful and EXPENSIVE road ahead. He had to shaved to determine the severity of his wounds. I cried by the look of how emaciated he is. He is currently recovering at, Metairie Small Animal Hospital, here in New Orleans and undergoing additional testing. To add to the list, he currently has multiple infections; ear, skin and a wound on his stomach. He should be approximately 150 lbs and currently weighs in at 60! My heart breaks for the sweet sweet soul of a dog. Dog is God backwards, I have to believe that God put him in my path. He came to the edge of the road, because he knew my friends and I would not just pass him by. He has a plan for Duke. I know with your help, Duke can have the life he deserves.!!
