On July 29th of 2014, my mother had her first seizure. It was scary for all of us but we got through it. For the following months however, her seizures increased in frequency, eventually being up to three or four a day. Being a middle school teacher, she lost her job when the school year started, as she was now unfit to both drive a car and teach a classroom due to the frequent and usually dangerous seizures. After several months of not being able to return to work and collecting temporary disability insurance, we had to apply for disability insurance (still not entirely sure of the names of everything so forgive me if the names are innacurate). Anyway, after her claim was put in on December 2nd of 2014, we waited over half a year for the result, as the claim was passed to different offices throughout the country. My mother assumed that because it took more than twice as long as it should have, she must have been approved and over the past few weeks waited eagerly for the call saying that we would have the money we needed. Today we found out her claim was rejected, meaning that for several more months her and my father have to struggle to afford a four person family on one working family member, and we have had to explore appartments within our price range if things dont get better soon. I am making this account to bring in a little extra money, nothing excessive, to pay the bills we need to until disability finally goes through. I understand everyone has their own problems, and until now we have not asked for hand outs because of that, but now I'm turning to the large circle of people who know and love my mom because things are starting to look worse for us. If you find yourself with some extra money, we would appreciate greatly if you could donate to help us out in the coming months. Thank you for your time, and if it was unclear I am the 17 year old son, Kevin Henkel.
