UPDATE ON HUNTER'S ROAD TO RECOVERY:

Hunter had his complete knee reconstruction surgery on October 7th, and hopfully, that is the last of his surgeries. He got his pins from his plastic surgery on his left hand removed, and it is healing as it should. His right arm break has healed enough that they removed the cast. The injuries in his neck and spine, both femurs, right ankle, and left knee and hip are also healing as they should. He has been allowed to come home, but he has to use a wheelchair to get around because he is not allowed to bare any weight on his right leg and can only bare weight as tolerated on the left leg. Because of this, he still requires the help of others for almost everything. They are hoping to start Physical Therapy on him soon, but that is all depending on his healing and when he can actually do even the little stuff starting out.

Since it could be up to a year or possibly longer before he is mostly recovered and able to return to work, Hunter attempted to sign up for Social Security Disability in order to have a way to continue paying his bills, buy groceries, and to help cover some of the costs of transportation to his appointments that are all in Springfield, but they told him it may be up to 1 1/2 years before they make their decision if he will get it. Because of this and him not having a source of income, we are still seeking donations for his GoFundMe so he is able to continue paying his bills, buy groceries, and help cover some of the costs of transportation for his appointments. We understand that some may not be able to donate much, but any little bit helps and is greatly appreciated!

To those who have already donated and also helped in anyway you can, THANK YOU!! Both are greatly appreciated!

Hello, All!

As some of you know, my son, Hunter, was involved in a motorcycle accident on September 4, 2024, which resulted in him having to be airlifted to Springfield Memorial Hospital.

On September 5th, he underwent two surgeries on his left femur, one on his right femur, and one on his right ankle.

On September 9th, he had plastic surgery on his left hand.

He is still looking at the possibility of having surgery on both of his knees, which could include a complete knee replacement of both.

He has a broken neck and a fracture in his upper spine, and an aneurysm in the left side of his neck by his carotid artery.

At this time, it is unknown how long he will have to remain in the hospital.

Upon release from the hospital, Hunter may have to go to a Rehabilitation Center for extensive therapy and remain there until he is able to return home. However, if his insurance approves in-home care services, and if he is approved to return to his home or temporarily to my home upon release from the hospital instead of a Rehabilitation Center, he will still be required to have 24/7 care, go to therapy in Springfield, and have many follow up doctors' appointments in Springfield.

At this time, it is undetermined how long it will be before he is able to be fully released from the doctors' care, and to return to work, but they did say it could be 6 months to a year, if not longer.

We are currently looking into getting him signed up for temporary disability, but for the time being, I am starting this GoFundMe for him to help pay for his monthly bills, which includes child support, as well as any future costs for transportation to and a from appointments related to his injuries, home alterations to accommodate his medical needs, medical equipment or supplies not covered by his insurance, or any other expenses not covered by his insurance.

Any amount, including $1, is greatly appreciated!

Thank you for all the prayers, and to everyone who has reached out!
