In October of 2014 Chris and Maryellen (Smith) both originally from Dorchester and their 3 boys Patrick, Jake and Bryan's lives were turned upside down when Chris was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma (a blood and bone disorder) and would need a stem cell transplant. Though there is no cure, doctors would be able to put Chris into remission with a stem cell transplant. In March of this year, Chris underwent a successful stem cell transplant and spent several weeks in the hospital fighting hard to rebuild his now depleted immune system. Chris has been continuing to battle cancer and remains strong but unfortunately, he has been unable to work since February. It is unclear when Chris will be able to return to work. This has brought on tremendous stress to the family and his sick time has run out. As friends and family of the Blinns, we all know that both Chris and Maryellen would always be there to help out others. This is our time to be there to help them in their time of need. Chris is a wonderful husband, farther, brother, brother-in-law, son-in-law, uncle and son.
Chris has coached many kids in the Marshfield area on the Costal Stars providing them with inspiration. Please consider donating to this amazingly strong family who needs our help and support right now.
Chris will battle cancer forever now but he will not be alone in his journey. Thank you for all your generosity and support.
