I've worked with Mikey for a few years now. He's one of the kindest people I've ever met, & I feel lucky to call him a friend. He's always been there for not only me, but everyone he's befriended along the way. He is extremely thoughtful & wonderful on so many levels, but don't just take my word for it. Almost every customer who comes to our Starbucks here on Gateway Blvd in South San Francisco smiles at him & calls him by name. Every day he comes to work by a 45 minute bus ride, often while he's sick just to be here. It's no secret that our Mikey has been dealing with many health issues over the years. I think he should know that we all need him to get better & take some time for himself. I know that he's made so many people's days better just by being a part of our starbucks family & I really think it's time to repay the favor. I believe he needs this money to take a step back from work, focus on his health & spend some time with his family all the way in LA.
