Family Devastated by Fire

An electrical fire started in the basement of my brother and sister-in-law's home. While saving their beloved cats, my brother suffered severe burns on the bottom of his feet and minor burns on his hands. Thankfully, firefighters were able to put the fire out, but their home was severely damaged by electrical smoke. The firefighters called it Level 3 smoke damage plus water damage from putting the fire out, which means it will need a significant amount of restorative work before they can safely live in their home again.

Their insurance is helping with housing while their place is being repaired; however, there are SO MANY immediate and ongoing costs—things that insurance will not cover. Electrical smoke comes with harmful toxins, so they'll need to replace food, furniture, clothing, and any other essentials that were damaged by the smoke.

Any amount you can contribute, no matter how small, will make a significant difference. I'm putting this GoFundMe together for my heroic brother and his strong and amazing wife and their cat-children in Caseyville, Illinois. I live out-of-state but am trying to do everything I can to help them from here.
