Justice for Mariah and Kaiya

Lindsey is one of the most compassionate people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She is a dog trainer who has helped thousands of dogs in her time and saved many from certain euthanasia due to behavioral problems. She started her own dog training business from the ground!I had the pleasure of living with her for three years and getting to know her "pack".
Mariah was the most well mannered canine I have ever met. She was a white shepherd who loved to sing and show off her many tricks. We would joke that she was " immortal " because despite her old age, she was as playful as an eight week old puppy.
Kaiya was a beautiful shepherd mix that Lindsey rescued from Mobile, AL. He had a kind spirit and always made sure the UPS guy couldn't break in and steal all of our stuff.
Boca was the one that would have welcomed the thief with open paws, provided he gave her a few pats on the head and maybe a snack. Boca is a black and tan doberman pinscher who is most famous for being the opposite of what most people think dobermans are like. She will greet anyone by spinning in circles and then sit in your lap and watch TV.
Remo is the newest member of the pack. He is also a black and tan doberman. Less than two years old, this youngster learned from the best. He quickly caught on to begging and showing off tricks and shoving his nose into your hands to get you to pay attention to him. He is with out a doubt the most handsome fella in the pack.
A few months ago, Lindsey moved to New York to be with her fiancé and start her business all over again. She had to temporarily leave the pack at her home here in Florida while she got the business going and searched for a home in New York that would be suitable for all four of her beloved dogs.
Lindsey looked around for someone who could watch over her home and dogs until she could return after a few short months to pick them up and move everyone up to their new home. When a friend offered to do exactly that, Lindsey was elated. She felt as though she found someone she could trust. This friend (lets just call him John Doe), seemed like the perfect candidate and made a written agreement to take care of all four dogs and Lindsey's house in exchange for being able to live in the three bedroom, two bath house rent free. That's right, John Doe had internet, power, water, trash, and a large brick house all to himself for free and all he had to do was keep the pups happy.
So Lindsey set up auto shipping on dogfood so that it would be automatically shipped to the front door, she made sure everyone was up to date on shots and pest control, and then said a temporary goodbye to her beloved dogs and made the move.
She checked in with John Doe every other day to make sure things were in going okay and that the dogs were happy and healthy. John Doe always assured her that things were going great at home and even periodically responded with a "thumbs up".
Then, when a friend of Lindsey's stopped by to see how things were going with John Doe, she noticed two unopened bags of dog food on the porch. The friend and Lindsey decided that she needed to find a way in to check on the dogs.
What she saw was tragic, life altering, and bone chilling. No one had been there in weeks. John Doe lied about being there and taking care of the dogs. For absolutely no reason at all, he led Lindsey to believe her dogs were being fed, watered, and let out to potty. If he would have said " Hey, I can't keep up my end of the agreement", someone else would have taken his place and taken care of the dogs. But he didn't say that, he lied. He left the dogs with out food, water, a place to relieve themselves, and without human contact for three weeks.
In an attempt to get water, Remo chewed the hot water heater and busted it open, spilling hot water everywhere and leaving large thrid degree burns all over the dogs. The water eventually became dirty with urine and feces and then flies and maggots took over. There is damage to the drywall in many places from the dogs chewing.
Mariah and Kaiya were too old to be able to go so long with out food, and couldn't even get up when help arrived. They did not survive. Boca and Remo are in critical condition and receiving veterinary care. Both have lost nearly 50 pounds.
Criminal charges have been filed against John Doe and an investigation is under way.
Lindsey has spent all of the money she saved to come get her pack on veterinary costs and there are still thousands of dollars of vet bills ahead.
Let's help her receive the best veterinary care possible for Remo and Boca. Let's help her fix the damage to her house. Let's help her get her dogs back to her. Please donate to help save and reunite Lindsey with her pack.
