My name is Brandi. I have 5 children and I take care of my mother. 4 of my children are on the Spectrum (1 of them has Epilepsy and 1 has a hearing impairment) and my mother is a Veteran who is a diagnosed Schizophrenic with Dementia.
My husband works in IT and was laid off in March. He has applied to hundreds of positions only to be told that companies are on hiring freezes. He has applied to various companies outside of the professional workforce (grocery stores, fast food chains) and has been doing food delivery.
I work for our local school system as a Paraprofessional (teacher’s aide) and I am in school to finish my Bachelor’s degree in Special Education.
I am not the kind of person that takes it lightly to ask for help, and this really takes a huge step and humility to be able to do. I am the one that is always there for others and has no problem asking or doing on behalf of someone else.
I get it, my problems are not the problems of the world’s and there are many people that are probably more deserving than I am.
I grew up being passed around from place to place and family member to family member. I went to 26 different elementary schools, 3 different middle schools, and 6 different high schools. My goal has always been to have stability for my children. I don’t want them to have to go through this, and that is what brings me to come to ask for help.
We are very behind on our mortgage because of our financial situation. We have exhausted our savings. I do not want my children to lose their home. I do not want to have to put my mother in a nursing facility (because the ones that are available to people like her are really bad).
I wouldn’t be asking if it wasn’t a complete necessity. If you can find it in your heart to have compassion and assist us, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to even read this.
God bless!
