Gracie Calderone, now fourteen years old and a Wethersfield High School freshman, has endured a tremendous medical ordeal for the past five months. Born with a congenital heart defect, Boston Children’s Hospital specialists determined Gracie needed a heart transplant this past June. Miraculously, a donor was located, and this brave young lady underwent this vital procedure immediately after completing her eighth-grade year at Silas Deane Middle School. Gracie began her education at Webb Elementary School and continues to win the hearts of all fortunate to know her. While Gracie has returned to her education at WHS, she continues to have weekly therapies and appointments. Her treatment will be lifelong and has come with exorbitant expenses.

As her sole caregiver, Gracie’s father, Concetto Calderone, works full-time at Home Depot. He is responsible for transporting her to all required Boston and Connecticut appointments. Cassandra Calderone, Gracie’s sister, is a 2023 WHS graduate. As part of her support team here at WHS, we would like to assist Gracie’s family by setting up this GoFundMe.
