Prosthesis Eye For Braxton Justus
Donation protected
My name is Amanda Justus, my son Braxton Justus lost his eye July 2, 2015. The accident occurred on June 30th, when my husband Brandon, was weed eating and Braxton ran outside. At that time something flew from it and hit Braxton in the eye. When we started looking at it everything seemed okay. But the next morning his eye was swollen almost shut and we knew something was wrong. We took him to his pediatrician and he gave him antibiotic eye drops. After one use the brown of his eye started turning white. So we took him on to pikeville. After there on call opthomologist looked at it and got to see the whole eye we found there was a cut that penetrated the globe. From there we was shipped to UK hospital and he had surgery to try and repair everything. During surgery we found that a unknown bacteria entered the eye and took his vision from that eye. We was given the option to try and fight the bacteria and risk it going to his brain or other eye, or remove it and have a prosthesis put in. We done what we knew was best for our son. Now our insurance is saying they may or may not pay on all of it. We do not like having to ask for help but for our son to have the best care and to be able to make all of the trips that are coming up we are going to need some help. If you can't donate just send prayers our way to be able to do everything for our baby boy. Thanks to anyone that does in advance.
