Tony Thorne was born on July 24th, 1968 in Torrance, California to Jan and Linda Thorne. Shortly after, they moved back to Jan's hometown of Nehalem, Oregon where he lived until shortly after graduating from Neah-Kah-Nie High School in 1986. Tony worked as a dairy farmer a little before starting his lifelong career as a logger with Gustafson Logging where he worked his way up through all the different jobs in a logging outfit. After some years he left and went to work briefly for Bighorn Logging and then onto his dream job as a faller with O'Brien Timber Falling where he worked for 22 years. Tony loved working and playing outdoors but more than that he loved family. He was always doing things with his children and grandchildren, they were his greatest love of all.
On the morning of February 18th, 2016 Tony was taken from us much too soon in a logging accident while cutting near Elsie, Oregon.
Tony was an amazing Father, Son, Brother, Grandpa, Uncle, Friend and Timber Faller. Truly considered one of THE BEST by his peers.
He is survived by his mother Linda, brother James, children Elizabeth, CJ and Joey and grandchildren Kairi and Quinn.
As I'm sure that you are well aware, in addition to the emotional toll that this took it has also been a financial struggle as well and that is why we are raising money to provide him and his family with a nice headstone for his gravesite. Any money left over will go to his estate to help with attorney fees.
The Thorne Family wishes to thank you for your support and loving care during their time of grief.
