100 miles

My 100-Mile Challenge for Help for Heroes

After leaving the Army, I struggled more than I ever expected. I felt lost, isolated, and unsure of who I was without the uniform. Like so many veterans, the transition to civilian life wasn’t easy. I hit some of my lowest points and, for a long time, didn’t know where to turn.

But with time, support, and the right people around me, I started to find my way back. Organisations like Help for Heroes reminded me that I wasn’t alone — and that it’s okay to ask for help. Knowing I’m beginning to get back on track with an end goal in site I’d like to give something back.

Help for Heroes provides vital support to veterans and their families, helping them recover from both physical and mental wounds. They offer everything from mental health services and recovery programmes to practical support with day-to-day life. It’s a lifeline for people like me, and countless others who’ve served.

To give back, and to challenge myself in the process, I’ve decided to run 100 miles throughout July to raise funds for this incredible charity. Every mile I run is a mile closer to helping another veteran find hope, purpose, and the strength to keep moving forward.

If you can spare a donation, no matter how small, it would mean the world. Or if you can’t donate, a share or a word of encouragement would mean just as much.

Thank you for reading my story, and for supporting those who’ve served.
