Help Carolyn Get Spinal Surgery

After receiving the results of her MRI and X-rays which confirmed Degenerative Disk Disease, Scoliosis and Spinal Stenosis, local specialists were very skeptical of her chances of surgical success.  If she stays locally, she will need to have up to 3 surgeries with low or no success rates.  It was time to research her options.  She realized that the only chance she would have to live life pain free and with mobility was to seek medical advice elsewhere.  Germany has more than 30 years advancement in Spinal Surgery techniques so that is where she sought out a medical opinion.  German Spinal Neuro Surgeons offer a high rate of success with a return to a fully active lifestyle.  In Dusseldorf, Germany, Dr. Biersted will perform her surgery on March 27th, 2018.  She will have her spine straightened, receive a double fusion (the German way)  and have an ESP-L Disk Replacement.  (This disk is not used or approved in Canada but offers motion preservation)  She will have a Spine Reconstruction which will stop further collapsing and deformity.  Pain free life is waiting for her.  Following the surgery and 8 day hospital stay, Carolyn will have to follow a 12 day scheduled rehab program in a special facility in Germany.  Her surgery is very expensive and not covered by our healthcare or their work insurance plans . Carolyn is very independent and adverse to asking anyone for help, but she will have to borrow extensively to finance this surgery.  Anyone who knows Carolyn appreciates that she has a passion to help others.  She has reached out to help many people and I know that her friends are looking for a way to help her.  Any donation would be welcomed and appreciated.
